Scholarships in 2010 in Rio Blanco, Nicaragua

We are excited about the opportunity to give two students the chance to attend high school in Rio Blanco this year. We are about to select two recipients that will receive funding to attend the once weekly secondary classes designed to allow rural students the chance to receive a secondary education without relocating to a major population center.

This is the first time Project Schoolhouse has given scholarships and there were 10 applicants this time. The majority of the applicants live in rural communities near Rio Blanco and the funding will mainly be allocated for transportation to and from classes and school supplies.
